Large-scale Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
